Despite the potential for reputational damage, NASA’s science mission chief Thomas Zurbuchen has announced that an independent team will study UFOs as part of a new push toward high-risk, high-impact science. The team will look at reports of unidentified flying objects, and try to determine if they are a threat to national security. This is a bold move by NASA, and one that could pay off in a big way if it leads to the discovery of new information about our universe.
